I knew Mike for many, many years, as a fellow college basketball writer and reporter. His care and concern and love for local sports, athletes and coaches was evident in his speech, demeanor and writing. He was professional in every way, but more importantly, he demonstrated humanity and sensitivity. Guys like that don't pass our way often enough. -- Chuck Stogel, president, Met Basketball Writers Assn.
